My hat it has three corners...

Three corners has my hat.
And had it not three corners,
It would not be my hat

I actually feel like a three-cornered hat, or maybe a many cornered hat. Since the BIG TRIP in December/January to India and the Andamans, I feel like I've been catching up.

I appologise for not getting the rest of your pictures posted for the Breeks Reunion. I just heard back from Olive, too. Seems like we are on the same page at the same pace. I promise before Christmas to catch up with all of it.

Bill and I have been involved with the Pacific Art League of Palo Alto since we returned. He was part of a group that overthrew the previous board that was trying to sell the historic building. Many months of chaotic actions and reactions ensued. Bill has spent hours pro bono redesigning the building so that it will be seismically safe and get some added space. This week, several people resigned from the Board of Directors. Bill has been elected as chair and I have been appointed to the board. The Executive Director is back from medical leave. We feel that the water levels have been raised and the ship can now really start to float.

Work has not been smooth sailing either with an intirim dean who is not a librarian. A new dean will be appointed before summer and it is yet to be seen how that works. I have been able to pass the Circulation Dept. on to a new librarian and can now concentrate on the Library web page and the Heritage Room. I will be attending the Western Archives Institute in San Diego for two weeks in June.

Angel poinsetta On Easter Sunday, our sweet cat, Angel who we mostly called "Little Cat" died. Not many people had seen her because she liked to hang out in the basement. Having been raised in a trailer in San Jose, it looked like home to her. We miss her quiet presence.

Right now, I'm in Auckland at Eric's home (he's in Reno) Sheila is here on her way back from visiting her grandma and Western Australia. Holly, Jemma and Moo are involved with competitive swimming, water polo (*breaking news* Jemma just got into the team that will represent NZ in the Global Championships in Brisbane next month. Congratulations, Jemma!) and soccer, too, so Marg doesn't get much time to sit. Beautiful view of Mt. Albert from here. Monday, I'll be in Brisbane helping my mother move from a 2-storey 5-bedroom house to a 2-bedroom condo next door to my sister, Margo. Hope to catch up with cousins and friends, too, not forgetting Indooroopilly Shopping Center.

I'm back to blogging. Enthralled by the new genealogy site. Dipping into Facebook. Hiding from Twitter. Check out Twitter

I'll be giving a workshop on "Library 2.0 and Web 2.0" this fall.

FAMILY NEWS: Jessica has bought a house in Seattle. Dan is going fishing. Amy, Bryant, Taylor and Devin came down to MV and had a nice visit with us and grandparents/great-grandparents Polly and Bill. Cuba was run over by a Mercedez, but only just. (she's fine). Brizzy tried to stop me (physically) from leaving--I guess he wanted to come to Australia, too. Tuvi is lonely but luvey. Bill is enjoying being an alpha male!

Keep in touch. Love you all. Joy
